Killeshandra  is a fishermans’ paradise surrounded by unspoilt countryside of over 400 lakes and rivers. Castlehamilton has 2 private lakes for your use during your stay and the Estate is surrounded by many lakes and rivers which flow into the waters of Lough Oughter, which is the largest inland water system in Europe.

The area offers excellent angling opportunities for the coarse angler and fly fishing.  It is the ideal location for a pike, trout and coarse fishing holiday.  Species available include pike, perch, bream, roach, rudd, tench, and eels.  There are many fine game angling river stretches and wild brown trout filled rivers.

The Killeshandra Festival of the Lakes takes place annually over the June bank holiday weekend. With music and craic in many of the pubs, the festival also features a family fun day on the Strand , table quizzes, car treasure hunt, sports day and children’s talent show.
